Stolar was born on a small farm to an herbalist mother and carpenter father. He had two younger twin sisters that died from disease at young ages.
His father, Sayalt was an officer in the King’s navy. While on a diplomatic mission and escort to the King’s court, he was framed for the murder of a diplomat. He was unable to convince those on board that he was innocent and could not find the real murderer. While land was sighted he was freed by a trusted friend and jumped overboard and swam to shore. The King dispatched his guard to find him and that proved impossible. He had changed his name and appearance. Sayalt finally settled in a very small village in the center of the land. He became a carpenter and an average farmer. In a few years he met Stolar’s mother at a harvest festival. They married and had three children. Stolar was born first and was very sickly. A few years later his sisters were born. They died shortly after learning to walk. Stolar’s mother died a year later after the twins from a broken heart. Sayalt and Stolar were alone. Stolar’s father never spoke of his past.
When Stolar was 11 he was caught in a snowstorm for two days. He was later found, feverish and frostbitten. His hands and feet are still blackened color from the necrosis. After the incident he was no longer sickly. He is a somewhat tall and fit man, with long brown hair pulled back in a pony tail. He resembles his mother in the face and has his father’s eyes and dark complexion.
Stolar has become a successful carpenter and fighter. Having grown up around nature and many all forms of wood he understands their elegance. Form this he has vowed that he will only use a staff for any occasion that presents itself. He believes that he is one with all wood and can harness its essence. His father has taught him the ways of politics and Kingdom life. Instilled in him are family values, ethics, truthfulness and loyalty. From that he has found little humor in his life and is stolid in nature.
Stolar believes that there is so much more to life than being a carpenter. He has told his father that when the spring comes he is leaving to find his way in the Kingdom. He has a trade and skill with a staff. He is prepared. The world is his, should his feet move him forward.
