I realized this week that something has been missing from my table top RPG experience. I have never been able to play a character to higher levels. I have been part of campaigns but they never really materialized into something more than a few levels. In my D&D days I may have made it to 8th or 9th level. Playing in GURPS was not much different. The groups I were part of bounced from genre to genre and adventure to adventure. During that time I had much fun. I was never able to grow my characters.
I really want to know what it is like to play a character that has been developed and reaches higher levels of play. I want to be able to decide how the character is going to progress. I want to feel vested in the character. I want to be able to remember the character and how it changed it’s world.
So, I am on the lookout for a group that is willing to develop characters. If there are any DM’s / GM’s that can take on an old school gamer into their fray let me know. GURPS, Pathfinder or D&D. I need to fill this void in my table top RPG life.
Good luck. It’s so hard to keep a consistent group together for that long. Maybe start the group at a higher level? Not sure that meets your goals.
Thanks for the luck. I really wanted to grow a character. I have played at higher levels but didn’t feel like I earned it. Do you know what I mean?
Yeah absolutely.
